This Week at the Jersey Shore: Nov. 19 to 25

Thanksgiving and the Start of the Holiday Season

By Kristen Fischer November 19, 2018

Does anyone really enjoy Thanksgiving anymore? It's one of my favorite holidays, but I find our society skips over it and goes right into the other holidays. This week, try to enjoy Thanksgiving. It's a great kid-friendly holiday with many teaching opportunities. Plus, there's turkey.

Here are a few fun things happening this week!

MONDAY
Chalkscaping the winter holidays starts this afternoon in Brick.

Have you ordered your holiday pies or are you making your own?

TUESDAY

There's a Thanksgiving Parade in Brick today! For kids!

WEDNESDAY

If your child loves to color, Spring Lake is the place!

Expect a new edition of the newsletter today--a day early!

THURSDAY

Stay home. Eat turkey. Snuggle with your kids. Write a gratitude list. Share it with your family. Think of opportunities to volunteer with your kids and tell us about ones you discover locally. Or just catch up on sleep.

Ignore the event calendar--I'm thinking most of those events are canceled minus the free Thanksgiving meal in Pt. Beach.

FRIDAY

Ring in the holiday season the way locals do--with a beach bonfire!

THE WEEKEND

Enjoy a meal with Santa, make a gingerbread ornament...or check out all the other weekend events!

I just added a ton of events to the calendar, so stay tuned for more holiday fun! Not a subscriber yet? If you subscribe today, you'll be eligible for 12 Day of Giveaways, which starts next week. Sign up here!
