MKares: 101

How this NEW type of article will connect our community in a caring way!

By Kate Downes May 14, 2020

In an article published two weeks ago, I interviewed local mom, Emilie Olds.  She and her children had gone above and beyond to bring joy to their Ocean Grove neighborhood via the delivery of homemade treats.  In writing that article, I too felt a bit of joy. While I was not lucky enough to receive an actual treat, I did get a sense of love and belonging to a community, who as a whole, is unsettled by COVID-19.

In an effort to bring joy, and ultimately connectedness to our community, MKares is a new type of article that will showcase local nonprofits, charities and/or acts of kindness.  Each week the article will cover who (or what) the individual (or organization) is and how we can help them.  If there are any readers who know of (or are a part of) a local non profit or charity, please email me directly at katelynd@macaronikid.com.  I would be honored to share your story and to reach out to our community for additional support.  On the other hand, if you are (or know of) an individual who is doing something incredibly thoughtful or kind (especially during this challenging time), please send me an email at that same address, katelynd@macaronikid.com.

I look forward to hearing from all of you soon and to be able to start filling our community with JOY!
