I dont know if you feel the same way as me, but WHERE DID AUGUST GO?! Seriously, it seems as though these past 28 days have sped by at the speed of light! For me, this was partially because of "vacation recovery" and the never ending "virtual vs. in person school debate." Now that I have finished the final load of suitcase laundry and have confidently made my 2020-2021 school year decision, I can move on to completing the list of things that I wanted to do with my family this summer. The only problem is that there are just 10 more days until Labor Day!
Before you tell me that I am crazy for thinking that I can end my summer with a bang, let me introduce you to the Macaroni Kid Calendar! This awesome resource (sorry, not sorry for patting myself on the back) was the starting point for me as I scheduled the next few days with my family before my oldest son heads off to Pre-K on the 9th! In addition to the calendar, I looked out my window and leaned on some of my neighborhood faves to help me make memories that will last me until next summer!
Here is what we decided to do:
1. On Friday, we will FINALLY take advantage of Wrist Band Night @ Jenkinson's Boardwalk where we will be able to ride all the rides for $22/person!
2. Looking to not only eat sweets, but be sweet, we will donate some of our extra school supplies at Norton's Main Scoop in Manasquan on Saturday night! Our donation will get us a FREE regular sized soft serve ice cream!
3. With the winds picking up to 16 mph on Sunday, my son will FINALLY be able to fly the kite that he got from the Easter Bunny at the Sea Girt Beach!
4. Always a sucker for dining al fresco, this summer has made it a bit difficult to get a reservation at a waterside table. Instead, I opted for dinner with a view that my family would enjoy more! We are going to eat at Reef and Barrel in Sea Girt on Monday so that we can eat our meal with a view of the NJ TRANSIT TRAIN ;)
5. Similar to my love of outdoor dining, I also love an outdoor movie! Since we havent checked out any of the flicks at FirstEnergy Park or the Freehold Raceway Parking Lot, we are going to pop our popcorn and drive over to Freehold on Tuesday night for one of their final summer showings!
See, It can be done! (But talk to me next Wednesday when I am completely OVER my "bucket list")
